US-MUSIC-COACHELLA-MUSIC-FESTIVAL

Well everyone, the time has finally come. Coachella is in four days and I can’t even explain to you all how excited I am. This post is for all of my readers who will be attending the most amazing music festival you will ever encounter. I will be giving you the essentials you need to survive the weekend and have the dopest time ever.

(Also theres some music at the bottom so if you aren’t going to Coachella and don’t really care about my festival packing list – scroll down for good tunes!)

Packing list:

Empty water bottles – there are fill up stations all around the venue so you can get more water whenever you need to

Hat of some sort – it’s going to be extremely hot and a hat definitely helps when walking around under the sun the entire day

Sunscreen – I know this sounds kinda nerdy but sunscreen is absolutely essential so you don’t get burned and spend the rest of your weekend in pain

Sunglasses – self-explanatory

Portable phone charger/chargeable case – even though there are charging stations around the venue, it’s convenient to have your own charger so you don’t need to drop it off at the charging station and wait to  pick it up. Having a charged phone at the festival is extremely important especially if you get separated from your group at night (it’s not fun).

Small backpack – i would HIGHLY recommend bringing a small backpack. it get’s really annoying to dance and walk around with a huge backpack with a ton of stuff in it. you should only be bringing in things that are absolutely essential, so it shouldn’t be hard to fit everything in a small bag!

Light sweater (optional) – I’m only putting this on the list because I get cold very easily and at night it get’s a little windy and the temperature drops a lot compared to how hot it is during the day. Sooo if you get cold easily, bring a small sweater to put in your bag for later.

Last but not least…..bring your wristband. You would be surprised at how many people bring pretty much everything to the festival other than their wristband.coachella-gateway

As for the music….here are a few songs that I am most excited to see:

Gunshot – Lykke Li

Sad Machine – Porter Robinson

Often – The Weeknd

Fitzpleasure – alt-J

A Walk – Tycho

Never Let Me Go – Florence + The Machine

Cardiac Arrest – Bad Suns

Five Hours – Deorro

Know Yourself – Drake

We Belong (ODESZA Remix) – RAC

Bloom – ODESZA

Above the Middle – ODESZA

Nomadic Firs – ODESZA

Play It Right – Sylvan Esso

have a good rest of your week, see you at coachella (if you’re going)!!!!!!!

xx,

hi everyone! i apologize i haven’t posted new music in nearly a month… i’ve been so busy with school, road trips, and other fun things that i just haven’t gotten the chance to sit down and post all of the amazing songs i have discovered over the course of this month. luckily while i was gone i found a ton of new music that i think you guys will really like.

i have realized that no matter where you are, there is always a chance to come across new music and bands. over the past few years years when i wanted new music, i would search itunes and youtube for songs i liked. recently, i have taught myself to always be listening to the music around me no matter where i am because you never know when you are going to hear your next favorite song.

last week while i was sitting in pei wei eating chinese spicy chicken, i heard one of the songs that i am featuring on this weeks post. when i heard it i immediately grabbed my phone and put it up to the ceiling so my shazam could tag the song. kinda funny and weird, but it’s actually good advice!!

i won’t be posting coachella music this week because i have found really good music that sadly won’t be featured at the festival. it’s okay though. hope you enjoy, and have a good week!

this week’s artist is st. lucia. i’ve been a follower of st. lucia since he first got signed by neon gold records & became well-known in 2012. his music is indie-electronic and absolutely amazing. he has a very relaxing sound to his songs that just makes you want dance and frolic in a field (aka coachella). have a great rest of your week/weekend!

st. lucia will be playing SUNDAY, APRIL 12. don’t miss him!

bailey

sunday’s are meant for relaxing, lying in bed, and attempting to complete all of your work from the week before that’s due on Monday. I thought that Kygo would be the perfect choice for today because he has produced super relaxing music that i LOVE to listen to while i study, get my life together, etc. I’m also just in the mood for some of his songs and hope you guys are too. he is one of my favorite artists right now and i think I’m most excited to see him out of everyone performing, and you’ll see why!

here are some of my all-time favorites produced by Kygo, enjoy!

ALSO: you won’t want to miss this guy at coachella – he’s playing SUNDAY APRIL 12 & 19.

Henry Green – Electric Feel (Kygo Remix)

with coachellaIMG_9065 being just a short 64 days away (not that i’m counting or anything..) i’ve decided to post a few songs every week from my favorite artists playing at the festival this year. i’ll be mixing up the genres so you can go to all five tents at coachella and know every awesome band performing! yay!

this week’s spotlighted artist is ODESZA. i love odesza because you can listen to them no matter what mood you’re in. this group is great to play at parties, or if you’re just hanging out in your room reading a book. their versatility gives them a super unique sound. IMG_9035

iPlayYouListen – ODESZA

It’s Only (feat. Zyra) – ODESZA

snowglobe-2014-contest-jorgensen-photography-750x400

happy 2015 everyone!! sorry i haven’t posted in a while, i’ve been busy sleeping until 12pm and eating as much food  as possible over the holidays.

this past weekend i was lucky enough to attend SNOWGLOBE on new years eve. let me tell ya, going to a concert in 7 degree weather is something i have never experienced before. if you haven’t been to snowglobe yet, i definitely recommend going. i only went for one night, and i thought that was enough partying in the snow for me.

10888452_10202307922178160_7662705983947020137_n

even though we only went for a night, we were BLESSED to see 4 amazing shows.

zedd was the first performer we saw, and here is my fav song he played:

not only was zedd one of the best artists of the night , but he also featured one of my favorite groups, empire of the sun. during this song, fireworks went off and the crowd went buck wild, which made his performance that much more exciting.

up next was WHAT SO NOT which was probably my favorite show of the night. I’m a huge what so not fan. i thought they did a great job playing a wide variety of their music and not just all popular songs. it was nice to hear some songs that no one had heard yet. this was my favorite song of the night:

and heres another just for kicks:

me vibin at what so not:

the third performer we saw was cherub, they were DOPE as expected. here is my fav song they played:

last but definitely not least was flume. he was ridiculously good and i will never forget his performance. he played remixes i had never heard before and also had the sickest set list out of everyone there. i’m going to post a few of his songs because one flume song just wouldn’t be enough.

thanks for reading, hope you loved the music, & stay tuned for my upcoming post on the newly released COACHELLA LINEUP!!

xoxo

bailey

hello to all of my loyal readers, and happy finals to all of my college pals!!

i am writing this blog post at midnight because, well, i decided this would be more entertaining than studying. i am going to attempt to put together a little playlist to get y’all through these depressing few days called finals. i decided to keep this post short & sweet because no one wants to read any more than they already have to for studying.

since i haven’t posted in about a month, i’m going to give you guys 8 songs! woo!

the song mood will range from sad to happy, which directly correlates with my feelings about  the week until i finally get to go home.

hope you enjoy!

xx,

bailey
