HI GUYS. ok sooooo since festival season is basically in full swing i knew deep down in my soul i had to post some new music and festival tips for all of my coachella-goers and music lovers.coachella-glitz-glam-vom

i have been so MIA this year, i don’t even have an excuse except i’m just too lazy to post and i really miss it so ya I’m gonna try more sorry.

words cannot describe how stoked i am on festivals right now. with coachella next week and the new OSL lineup (we’ll discuss this another day) that just came out yesterday, i am practically a ball of sunshine because of how excited i am.

like i mentioned in the title, desert vibes are the best vibes which is why pretty much everyone and their mom (or dad) will be in attendance.

some words of wisdom before you embark on the festival of a lifetime:

STAY HYDRATED – this is v important. no one likes a dehydrated person who is tired, sweaty, and has a headache.

BRING A SWEATER OR JACKET – even though it’s hotter than hell during the day at coachella, deserts get cold, and windy AF. trust me on this one, you do not want to be freezing and miserable after the shows end.

WRISTBAND – ok you’d be surprised how many people forget their wristband. THIS SHOULD BE LIKE THE FIRST THING U PACK.

PORTABLE PHONE CHARGER – because getting separated from your friends is scary and not fun, especially without a phone.

A GREAT ATTITUDE!!! – it’s easy to get overwhelmed and stressed out at these things (i always do) don’t let one drunk person who shoves you in the crowd ruin your day! shove them back and keep dancing!!!

2016 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival - Weekend 1 - Day 2

say something loving – the xx (SEE THEM AT COACHELLA, THIS SONG WILL BLOW YOUR MIND)

same sun – real estate

GRIZ @ Bill Graham

Hi friends! I can imagine most of you are struggling with finals and somehow find yourself on Facebook every two minutes while you’re in the library.

SO, I thought this would be a perfect time to post, because most of you are on social media procrastinating!

I’ve created a short, relaxing playlist for those of you who are about to complete the first half of their school year.

For those of you who aren’t going to school, I hope this playlist helps you relax with whatever you might be up to.

If you prefer an actual playlist rather than youtube links, I made a playlist under my account on Spotify called “Beats by Bay Weekly,” where I’ll update it each time I post a new blog.

I am going to do my beeeeest to post more because I have so much dope music I want to share with you guys.

Stay tuned!

XX,

Bailey

rl-grime-stereosonic-2014.jpg

As you all know, RL Grime will be bringing down the HOUSE on October 22 at the Dusk Music Festival in Tucson, Arizona. Until the day of the festival, I will be posting short little blurbs about each of the artists.

Henry Steinway, also known as RL Grime or Clockwork, has been in the spotlight since 2011 after his graduation from NYU. Steinway majored in music business and immediately moved to LA to pursue his producing career.

I first got to know RL Grime after his single “Tell Me” with What So Not was released in 2014. His music is notoriously known to make a party 150x better.

Trap, bass music, grime, and hip-hop are all genres RL Grime has produced. These days, RL Grime has been sticking to mainly trap, and I am definitely not complaining.

I am #blessed to have had the opportunity to see him a few different times. One time in particular was in good ol’ Las Vegas. To put things simply, he has changed my life for the better.

Tickets right now are $49 including fees. Not only is Dusk offering unreal DJ’s like RL Grime, but there will also be some DANK food. Don’t worry, I’ll write about that too 😉

BUY YOUR TICKETS HERE: https://www.ticketfly.com/purchase/event/1234489

avatars-000105622643-5cjkuy-t500x500Trust me, you do nooooooot want to miss this act. Henry and I would be very disappointed.

I have attached some of my all-time favorite songs by him.

Stay tuned for more posts this week & thanks for reading!

happy monday everyone!

todays post is going to be a little different. it’s solely dedicated to the dusk music festival that is taking place OCTOBER 22 in TUCSON. so if you are living in arizona, you’re in luck!

dusk has an amazing star-studded lineup including matt & kim, RL grime, dj mustard (!!!), a-trak, danny brown, & more.

the festival is also offering vip tickets for just $99, and GA tickets starting at $49.

not only are the tickets cheap AF, but they are going to have complimentary food and beverage samples provided from 2 – 4PM (BONUS)

if you will be in town during the weekend of october 22, I highly recommend checking out their website ‘duskmusicfestival.com’ and consider buying a ticket!

there is one stage this year so it will be really easy to see all of the acts without any overlaps.

I have also created a playlist of some of my favorite groups that’ll be playing at Dusk.

HOPE TO SEE Y’ALL THEREEEEEEE! support your local festival 😉

xx,

Bailey

What’s up party people! Sorry I casually went MIA for about four months. I had a crazy busy summer and never found the time to sit down and write out a lengthy post explaining my absence. I am pleased to announce that I will now be attempting to write on my blog every week, so enjoy the ride!

This week I knew I had to make a playlist for the upcoming long weekend. I know many of us are going to Las Vegas (I am SO excited). If you aren’t going to Vegas, I am assuming you are traveling somewhere or having a relaxing weekend at home. Regardless of what you are doing for the long weekend, it is my mission to create the best playlist to accompany you with whatever activities you may be partaking in.

I will also include a few photos from my summer just in case you’re curious what I have been doing with my life recently. I am so excited to start writing religiously again and I hope you are stoked for some fre$h beats!!!

Songs #91-100

Hellooooooo everyone! I hope you all had a magical weekend with whatever you were doing. I know most of you were at Coachella, which is one of the reasons why I decided to post some new music for you today. This weekend was extremely hard for me because as some of you may know, I think that I could be Coachella’s number one fan. I had major FOMO but it’s okay because the thought of all of you having a great time listening to amazing music is good enough for me.

I haven’t posted in about a month because I have been super busy with traveling and school work (never thought I would actually have real homework here). BUT I do have some delayed yet extremely exciting news for you. A few months ago I decided to apply to Pandora just for fun, and about a month ago after going through several interviews, one of the managers called me and told me I got the internship! Of course I cried on the phone like the dramatic idiot I am but it’s all good. I am sooooo excited to be doing what I love as a job, and can hardly wait for the summer to start!

I know you all must be feeling pretty depressed now that one of the greatest weekends of your life has come to an end, but I am happy to tell you that your PCSD can possibly be cured with some new music. Also, I finally learned how to copy my Spotify playlist onto my blog, so now instead of posting YouTube links I’m going to attach my playlist called “Beats by Bay,” directly onto the website.

{FOLLOW MY SPOTIFY FOR EVEN MORE MUSIC!!!}

So, without further a do, here is a list of some songs I have fallen in love with this month.

xx,

Bailey

Happy Wednesday to all of my readers!

I hope you are all having a splendid week wherever you may be. I know a lot of people are in Cabo right now which I am extremely jealous of, but I’ll survive. Over the past two weeks I have stumbled across some fun and relaxing remixes which I think you guys will really like.

I was in Amsterdam this past weekend and pretty much everywhere I went they were playing unreal music. The people in Amsterdam are seriously the greatest people you will ever meet. If you’ve never been to Amsterdam, picture Berkeley and San Francisco combined, with a European, Fault in Our Stars twist. It was AMAZING.

On a walk to get some pho (vietnamese noodles, BOMB), I came across a garage that inspired me. I know some of you are asking, “Wow how did a garage inspire you, thats super weird.” Well, yes you are right. It is definitely weird that a garage inspired me, but I think everyone can use this garage door’s advice for some aspect in their life. For me, it was a little reminder to continue my music journalism expedition, and religiously post on Beats by Bay.

Once I returned from my walk, I immediately began compiling a list of my favorite songs from the past week. Who knew that one little garage door could encourage me to write on a blog more. 12832444_10204074344297139_7489921525413426978_n.jpg

I hope this picture finds you well. This may sound super cliche and unlike me, but whether it be staying true to yourself, continuing on your track to success, or being there for your loved ones, don’t EVER fade away!! YA! Sorry for my random emotional rant but I just thought I would share with you guys because I loved it.

Onto the music…….this weeks playlist is  just fantastic. When I found this Dan Croll remix I almost fell to the floor and cried because I became disgustingly obsessed with it the second I heard it. As for the other songs I found, they’re relaxing, vibey, and perfect for hump day, non spring break blues.

I’m also going to throw in some pics from my travels this month because I don’t like writing about them that much (haha)

since we last spoke, i have traveled to london, switzerland, and madrid. not to brag or anything, but i have done some pretty fun stuff the past few weeks.

in london, i saw one of my all time favorite bands, tame impala. they honestly blew me away, and it was cool because the show i was at was actually their last one of their tour. i saw them at outside lands this summer as well, but i preferred seeing them in a foreign country because its a completely different vibe. the majority of people i talked to in london were obsessed with them, which was sweet to hear, because a lot of my friends in barcelona had never listened to them.

every person in the audience knew nearly all the words to their entire set list and were straight jammin’ the entire time. i’ll include one of my favorite songs that i heard at their show.

i even took some pictures to prove i went:

12733387_10203911882155687_6369670886285055878_n.jpg

the fresh air in interlaken, switzerland is something that i can’t even explain. the views are breathtaking and the entire area is surrounded by massive mountains that you can barely see the tops of. interlaken is between two lakes and in the picture below is me at one of them. they were turquoise blue and had a layer of mist over them. pretty amazing.
1483335_10203948883680702_4854724801408541901_n.jpg

while i was riding the bus to the airport from interlaken to geneva, i listened to my spotify discover playlist, where i found that one of my favorite artists, blackbird blackbird, had a handful of sick songs that i hadn’t gotten the chance to listen to yet.12744080_10203949121246641_5869811441614549437_n.jpg

since this post was a little longer than i was hoping for, ill include my madrid adventures/pictures/music in next week’s post!

here are some of my favorite songs at the moment:

disciples – tame impala

love unlimited – blackbird blackbird

grow old with me (don’t let me go) – blackbird blackbird

rare candy – blackbird blackbird

HELLO EVERYONE!!!!

Beats by Bay is back and better than ever. After taking nearly a year off from writing on my beloved music blog, I have decided to start back up. As some of you may know, I am spending my spring semester of my junior year studying in Barcelona, Spain.

What I really mean when I say “studying” is traveling around Europe with some of the greatest people in the world and having the time of my life. So yeah, not exactly studying but somehow I am getting school credit which is AWESOME.

Anyways, after a quick and casual year long hiatus doing other things and slacking off from writing a blog post. I am here to present to you some of my favorite songs I have discovered since last posting.

I am really going to try my best to post on Beats by Bay religiously like I used to, so I can give you guys a weekly update on which country I’m in, and which songs I am obsessed with at the moment. I’ll also throw in some cool pics from my travels as well.

I refuse to post long rants about my travels and experiences, because that’s just not who I am and quite honestly I just don’t have the attention span to do so. I’m going to try and keep my upcoming posts short, to the point, and exciting, so you can get on with your life and listen to some beautiful music I picked out for you.

SO, without further ado, I present to you: Beats by Bay from Barcelona.

HOPE YOU ENJOY and stay tuned for more music!!!

XOXOXOX,

Bailey
